FAQs

Can my loved one initiate a call?

No. To keep things simple, only the caregiver can start a call.

Can we make a group call?

No, only one user at a time can make a call with the clock.

Can I choose or change the ringtone on the Idem Clock?

Yes. The Idem Clock offers four ringtone options, and you can choose the one that best suits your loved one’s preferences directly in the caregiver Companion App. Whether they respond better to a softer sound or something a bit more noticeable, you can adjust the ringtone easily, at any time, without needing to touch the clock.

Can they accidentally hang up?

If they press “End,” the clock asks them to confirm before disconnecting.

I already have the Idem Clock. Does this new feature require a new clock?

No, the feature works on all current Idem Clocks.

Is Premium required?

Yes, Video Calling is included in the Idem Premium subscription. You need to subscribe in order to be able to use this feature.

What if I decide not to subscribe to Premium?

No problem, your Idem Clock will continue working as usual.

You simply won’t be able to use Video Calling.

What happens if my loved one is not in front of the clock and misses a call?

If your loved one isn’t nearby when you try to call, the clock simply stops ringing after a short moment. They won’t receive any notification or “missed call” message — and they won’t feel stressed or confused, because there’s nothing for them to follow up on and no expectation for them to call back.

You can simply try again later when it’s convenient.

Is Video Calling safe and private?

Yes. Calls are encrypted, and only approved caregivers can initiate them. Your loved one cannot receive calls from unknown contacts.
